Stephen Colbert has opened up about the memorable moment he discovered that supermodel Paulina Porizkova had named him as her celebrity "hall pass."
The talk show host recounted the story during an episode of Strike Force Five Returns to Celebrate Stephen Colbert, shared via YouTube earlier this month.
He explained that the revelation came while he was at a dinner with friends in the early 2000s, when the group began discussing their own hall passes.
"The guy next to me goes, 'Paulina Porizkova,'" Colbert recalled. "And this was midway through 'The Colbert Report.' I pulled up my phone, opened the PEOPLE magazine app on my phone, and I was Paulina Porizkova's hall pass."
Co-stars left in disbelief
His fellow hosts — Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver and Seth Meyers — reacted with astonishment, exclaiming, "Oh my God!"
"That was a flex that I've never ever been able to match," admitted the Late Show With Stephen Colbert star, 62.
Porizkova called him 'hot' on live television
Porizkova, 61, had previously made her feelings about Colbert known during a 2007 appearance on Good Morning America with host Elizabeth Vargas.
"If it wasn't for the fact that I'm already very happily married, and so is he apparently," she said. "He is just my kind of guy. He's so hot."
Porizkova then looked directly into the camera and gestured for Colbert to call her.
Colbert's on-air response
At the time, Colbert addressed the clip on The Colbert Report, telling his audience: "I don't know if I heard that supermodel correctly." He then produced a T-shirt he had made featuring Porizkova's face alongside her complimentary quote.
He also joked that he was not surprised she found him attractive, drawing a comparison between himself and her late husband, musician and Cars frontman Ric Ocasek.
Background on Porizkova and Colbert
Porizkova and Ocasek married in 1989 and raised two sons, Jonathan and Oliver, together before separating in 2018. The following year, Ocasek was found dead at his New York City apartment.
His cause of death was confirmed as heart disease. Porizkova is now engaged to TV writer and producer Jeff Greenstein.
Colbert, meanwhile, has been married to Evelyn McGee since 1993. The couple are parents to three adult children: Peter, Madeline and John.
