Kathy Griffin reveals hospital stay following medical complications after routine procedure
The comedian confirmed she is now recovering at home with her dogs
Kathy Griffin has revealed she spent the night in hospital after experiencing complications following a routine colonoscopy procedure.
The 65-year-old comedian shared the update on Instagram, explaining that she was now back home recovering with her dogs after the unexpected medical scare.
“I spent the night in hospital because I had complications from my colonoscopy,” Griffin said in a video posted to social media. “I know, I know, very sexy but I am home now with the doggies where I belong.”
Griffin did not provide further details about what led to the complications or the nature of the issue, but confirmed she is now out of hospital and recovering.
The My Life on the D-List star has been open in recent years about her health and cosmetic procedures, including previously revealing she underwent multiple facelifts.
In a recent appearance on the Good Guys podcast, Griffin said her third facelift alone cost $218,000, joking about the price tag and the amount of work she performs to afford it.
“It was not cheap. You ready? $218,000,” she said at the time, adding humorously, “Do you know how many d*** jokes I have to tell for $218,000?”
Griffin also joked about her openness regarding cosmetic surgery, saying she had assumed more women in Hollywood would be transparent about such procedures due to public scrutiny and paparazzi attention.
Despite her candid approach, she said she has found that most celebrities prefer to keep such details private, noting, “I foolishly thought every actress or woman is gonna talk about having their face work, but no, it’s just me.”
The comedian has previously spoken about her health challenges, including a past battle with lung cancer, and continues to share updates with fans in her trademark comedic style.
