Ricky Martin resumed his concert in Montenegro after an alarming incident on May 21 forced an abrupt pause when tear gas was reportedly released toward the stage.

The show was interrupted mid-performance after an audience member allegedly deployed tear gas, prompting panic among attendees and an immediate response from security personnel.

According to a statement issued by Martin’s publicist Róndine Alcalá, the situation led to an “abrupt interruption of the show as audience members moved away from the area and received assistance.”

The statement added that Martin and his team “immediately exited the stage as a precautionary measure while security personnel and local authorities worked to contain the situation and ensure the safety of those in attendance.”

While organizers initially advised against continuing the performance, Martin ultimately returned to the stage to complete the concert, reportedly choosing to honor his commitment to fans once authorities confirmed the situation was under control.

Officials later confirmed that attendees could safely return to the venue after the incident was contained.

“Ricky Martin and his team are safe and grateful for the support and concern received following tonight’s events in Montenegro,” the publicist added.

The unexpected disruption sparked widespread concern among fans online, many of whom praised the singer for resuming the show despite the security scare.

One fan wrote that Martin was “brave to continue,” while others expressed relief that “everyone is ok.”

Martin is scheduled to continue his tour with a next performance set for June 12 in Moldova.
