Angus Cloud’s mother speaks out on emotional 'Euphoria' finale tribute
The actor’s mother said the tribute reflected the 'beautiful soul' of Angus Cloud
Angus Cloud’s mother has spoken publicly about the emotional tribute featured in the Euphoria finale, expressing gratitude for the way the HBO series honored her late son.
Cloud, who rose to fame playing Fezco in the first two seasons of the hit drama, tragically died in 2023 at the age of 25 following a drug overdose.
In the show’s final episode, which aired on May 31, previously unseen footage of the actor was included in a poignant sequence depicting a hallucination experienced by Rue, played by Zendaya.
The moment served as a farewell tribute to Cloud’s character and legacy.
His character was earlier written as having been arrested and sentenced to 30 years in prison following the events of the series.
Speaking to TMZ, Cloud’s mother, Lisa Cloud, said she was deeply moved by the public reaction to the tribute and the continued love shown by fans.
“The massive public emotional outpouring on social media honouring my beloved son’s beautiful soul says everything,” she said.
She also praised Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, saying she felt he handled the tribute respectfully and “did a wonderful job” honoring her son’s memory.
According to the report, she fully trusted Levinson and his team in their approach to the storyline.
Lisa Cloud added that she was not informed in advance about the inclusion of the unused footage, though she suspected her son might be referenced in some form.
The tribute comes as Levinson has confirmed that the series will conclude with its third season, which he described as “the honest ending” to the story.
The finale has drawn widespread attention from fans, who continue to celebrate Cloud’s performance and legacy as Fezco in the acclaimed HBO series.
