Teddi Mellencamp reveals positive progress following stage 4 cancer treatment
The reality star previously battled stage 4 cancer that spread to her brain and lungs
Teddi Mellencamp has shared a deeply emotional medical update, revealing that her latest scans show “no evidence of tumour” following her ongoing battle with stage 4 cancer.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 44, said she recently underwent follow-up testing after a three-to-four-month gap between scans while continuing immunotherapy treatment.
In a video posted on Instagram, Mellencamp spoke candidly about the anxiety she experienced during the waiting period, describing it as “nervous, raging anxiety” as she awaited results.
“I keep crying… I want to be one of those people who says they’re positive all the time but I’m really scared. It’s also really lonely,” she said, adding that the uncertainty had left her feeling exhausted.
Mellencamp, who shares three children with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, later revealed the results of her latest medical evaluation.
According to her doctor, scans showed no visible tumours in her body, including previously detected growths in her brain and lungs.
“When you came, you had tumours in your brain and in your lungs. We don’t see those now,” the doctor said, noting that her treatment and immunotherapy had shown significant success.
While the physician stopped short of a definitive declaration of remission, he described the results as “the best outcome we could hope for,” explaining that remission remains a complex medical term.
He also added that Mellencamp will continue to deal with side effects from ongoing immunotherapy treatment but said her current condition is a positive sign moving forward.
Mellencamp was first diagnosed with stage two melanoma in 2022, which later progressed to stage four after spreading to her lungs and brain.
She concluded her message by urging fans to prioritize their health and regular screenings.
“This is also a reminder, you guys. Go get your skin checks,” she said.
