Two young sisters found dead alongside parents in doral home investigation
The victims include realtor Melanie Hyer, her ex-husband Ryan Whiten, and their two daughters
Melanie Hyer, her ex-husband Ryan Whiten, and their two daughters were found dead inside a home in Doral, Florida, in what authorities are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide.
The Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office said the victims — Hyer, 46, Whiten, 42, and their daughters Savannah, 11, and Sienna, 8 — were discovered on Tuesday, June 2, with stab wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. Officials did not specify who was responsible for the killings.
Local reports identified Hyer as a well-known real estate agent in the area who had been frequently featured for her professional expertise.
Whiten and Hyer were reportedly no longer in a relationship but continued to co-parent their children.
According to NBC Miami, both parents had entered subsequent relationships after their separation, though those marriages also ended.
Doral Mayor Christi Fraga expressed condolences, calling the tragedy deeply painful for the community and extending sympathy to the victims’ loved ones, classmates, and neighbors.
School officials at Downtown Doral Charter Elementary, where the children attended, said the community was mourning the loss of two students and described them as deeply missed by staff and classmates.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the deaths, and the investigation remains ongoing.
