Zendaya poses with books linked to her and Tom Holland’s upcoming movies
The actress surprised staff and customers during a visit to a California bookstore
Zendaya delighted fans with a subtle tribute to fiancé Tom Holland during a recent visit to an independent California bookstore, where she posed with two novels closely linked to the couple's upcoming film projects.
The actress stopped by Rakestraw Books in Danville, California, according to a social media post shared by the bookstore on June 6. Staff members said they were thrilled to welcome the Emmy-winning star, who spent time browsing titles and discussing books with employees.
“We had a very special visitor at Rakestraw Books recently,” the bookstore wrote on Instagram. “Zendaya stopped by to shop and chat books with us.
We were thrilled to help her find some good reads and loved getting some recommendations from her.”
In a photo shared by the store, Zendaya was seen holding copies of Dune: Messiah by Frank Herbert and The Odyssey by Homer, a playful nod to major upcoming projects involving both herself and Holland.
Zendaya is set to reprise her role as Chani in Dune: Part Three, the next installment in Denis Villeneuve’s acclaimed sci-fi franchise, scheduled for release later this year.
Meanwhile, Holland is attached to director Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated adaptation of The Odyssey.
Zendaya is also expected to appear in the film, portraying the goddess Athena.
Despite being one of Hollywood’s most closely watched pairs, Zendaya and Holland have generally kept their relationship private.
The actors first met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017 and confirmed their romance several years later after longstanding speculation from fans.
Their relationship reached a new milestone when reports emerged that Holland proposed during the 2024 holiday season.
While neither star frequently discusses their personal life publicly, Zendaya’s bookstore photo quickly drew attention online, with fans appreciating the subtle reference to both her own upcoming work and Holland’s latest project.
As anticipation continues to build around Dune: Part Three and The Odyssey, Zendaya's unexpected bookstore visit provided a charming reminder of the projects keeping the Hollywood power couple busy.
