Jack Innanen has opened up about why he decided not to join the cast of Heated Rivalry season 2, revealing that the opportunity ultimately “didn’t work out.”

The 27-year-old actor addressed the reports while attending the premiere of the second season of Adults at the Tribeca Film Festival, where he was asked about his involvement with the upcoming season of the popular sports drama.

When asked which role he had been offered, Innanen chose not to reveal details.

“I can’t [say],” he responded.

However, the actor praised the series and its creator Jacob Tierney, making it clear that his decision was not due to a lack of interest in the project.

“I think it’s such an incredible show, and it didn’t work out,” Innanen said. “But I love Jacob, I love everyone involved.”

He added that he is looking forward to seeing how the next chapter of the series develops.

“I’m just excited to see what they do for the second season,” he said.

Earlier reports suggested that Innanen had been approached for a role in Heated Rivalry season 2 but was unable to take part because of scheduling conflicts.

Production for the second season is expected to begin later this summer, with fans eagerly awaiting the continuation of the series.

The show’s creator, Jacob Tierney, previously teased that the upcoming season will expand beyond the central romance storyline.

In an interview with PinkNews, Tierney suggested that future episodes will explore more emotional and personal moments involving the characters.

“When Shane and Ilya get married, like by Hayden’s kids, it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen where of course I’m going to do that,” Tierney said, hinting at possible developments ahead.

Although Innanen will not appear in the upcoming season, he has expressed support for the series and its creative team as Heated Rivalry moves forward.
