Sabrina Impacciatore recalls falling to her knees when she first met Al Pacino
The ‘White Lotus’ star recalled being overwhelmed when she first came face-to-face with Al Pacino
Sabrina Impacciatore has opened up about the unforgettable first time she met Al Pacino, revealing that she was so overwhelmed by the acting legend that she ended up on her knees expressing her admiration.
The 58-year-old The White Lotus star shared the story while speaking with PEOPLE at the premiere of her upcoming film Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass during the Tribeca Film Festival.
The moment came up as Impacciatore discussed the theme of being starstruck, which plays a major role in the upcoming comedy. She admitted she could relate after having her own fan moment with Pacino.
Impacciatore recalled meeting the Oscar-winning actor at a restaurant, where he happened to be sitting nearby.
Her friend reportedly warned her not to make a scene and encouraged her to stay calm, but Impacciatore said she managed to hold back throughout the evening — until her friend stepped away.
“When I met Al Pacino, I was in a restaurant,” she recalled. “He was sitting next to me and my friend said, ‘Sabrina, don’t make a scene, stay still.’”
After finally approaching him, Impacciatore said she dropped to her knees and shared her gratitude for his work.
“I told him, ‘Maestro, thank you for all the beauty that you give to my life and everything,’” she said.
The actress revealed that Pacino responded with kindness, also getting down on his knees and hugging her in the middle of the restaurant.
“We were in the middle of the restaurant on our knees, hugging each other. It was incredible,” she said.
The moment became even more meaningful later when Impacciatore reunited with Pacino professionally. The two actors now appear together in the upcoming film In the Hand of Dante, creating a full-circle Hollywood experience for the actress.
Directed around the story of an author trying to authenticate a manuscript believed to be Dante’s original work of The Divine Comedy, In the Hand of Dante features a star-studded cast including Oscar Isaac, Gal Gadot, Gerard Butler, Martin Scorsese, Jason Momoa, and John Malkovich.
The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2025 and is set to arrive on Netflix on June 24 following a limited theatrical release.
Impacciatore’s other upcoming project, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 10.
