Jimmy Kimmel marked President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday with a satirical post on Instagram, sharing a birthday card that referenced a note allegedly linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The late-night host’s post appeared to parody a birthday message that was previously reported by The Wall Street Journal, which said Trump had written a note for Epstein’s 50th birthday. Trump has denied wrongdoing and filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit over the publication of the alleged card.

Kimmel posts satirical Epstein-style birthday message

The card shared by Kimmel read: “Happy 80th Donald! A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

The wording closely mirrors language attributed to the disputed Epstein birthday message, which has been widely reported in US media coverage and is part of ongoing legal and political scrutiny.

Kimmel’s version, however, included a visual satire, presenting the message inside the outline of an obese man as a pointed jab at Trump’s appearance.

Alleged Trump-Epstein note remains at centre of legal fight

The original 2003 birthday message, reportedly included in a collection of notes for Epstein’s 50th birthday, described a fictional exchange between “Donald” and “Jeffrey,” ending with the line: “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday—and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

Trump has repeatedly denied any inappropriate connection to Epstein and is pursuing legal action against The Wall Street Journal over its reporting of the note.

Ongoing public sparring over Epstein links

Kimmel has previously referenced Trump’s alleged ties to Epstein on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, including commentary on public photos of Trump and Epstein appearing together.

The latest post adds to a long-running pattern of political satire aimed at Trump’s relationship with public controversies, which continue to generate legal and media attention.
