Bunnie Xo has opened up about how her stepdaughter Bailee Ann DeFord is handling her divorce from country singer Jelly Roll.

The podcast host revealed that the 18-year-old is upset with both her and Jelly Roll after their marriage came to an end, explaining that Bailee is dealing with a difficult emotional transition.

Speaking on her Dumb Blonde podcast while addressing the divorce, Bunnie said she reached out to Bailee before discussing the situation publicly to ask if there was anything she wanted defended.

According to Bunnie, Bailee’s response focused on wanting more empathy from people amid the public attention surrounding her family.

“She’s mad at me because I was always the f***ing disciplining parent,” Bunnie explained. “And she’s mad at her dad because of what he did.”

Bunnie added that she understands why her stepdaughter feels hurt and believes Bailee has every right to process the situation in her own way.

The 18-year-old previously responded to public reactions about her parents’ split, asking people to focus on their own lives rather than commenting on her family.

Bunnie said she wanted to protect Bailee from criticism and emphasized that the teenager is trying to navigate a major change in her life.

“The only woman she has had consistently in her life she feels is being taken from her,” Bunnie said, referring to the impact of the separation.

She also explained that Bailee’s relationship with both parents is changing as she processes the divorce.

“She’s going to unfollow me on Instagram, and then she’s going to text me back the next day and tell me to follow her back,” Bunnie shared. “That’s just how it is right now.”

Despite the challenges, Bunnie said her love for Bailee remains unchanged.

“That’s my baby. I love her,” she said, adding that she would always be there when Bailee was ready.

Bunnie also hinted that Bailee may soon have her own platform to express herself, revealing that the teenager could be launching a podcast.

She encouraged people to support Bailee as she finds her own voice and continues adjusting to the changes within her family.
