Sexyy Red claims she lost nearly $500K in jewellery and bags after alleged burglary
The rapper accused her security guard of failing to protect the property after luxury items allegedly went missing
Sexyy Red has claimed she lost nearly half a million dollars worth of jewellery and personal belongings after an alleged burglary during her mother’s birthday celebration.
The rapper, whose real name is Janae Nierah Wherry, 28, filed a lawsuit accusing her security guard of failing to protect the property during the January 2025 event held at a residence in Florida.
According to court documents, Sexyy Red claimed that several valuable items were taken from the home after a door was left unlocked during the celebration.
The “Pound Town” rapper alleged that a masked individual entered the property on January 12 and stole luxury items, including necklaces, rings, charms, other jewellery, and handbags, with the total value estimated at around $500,000.
Sexyy Red stated that law enforcement investigated the incident and determined that the door had been left unsecured.
The lawsuit names Carl Thompson, the security guard responsible for overseeing the event, with the rapper alleging that he was the last person to leave the building before the reported theft occurred.
Sexyy Red is now seeking damages for the value of the missing belongings, though the allegations have not been proven in court.
The case remains ongoing as details surrounding the alleged theft continue to develop.
