The triple murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts mother accused of killing her three young children, is scheduled to begin on July 20, 2026. A final pretrial hearing took place on Monday, allowing the judge to rule on the remaining motions in the case. Lindsay Clancy and her defense team previously submitted their witness list for the trial, which is expected to last between six and eight weeks.

People reported that the witness list includes Lindsay Clancy’s husband and the father of the victims, Patrick Clancy, who will testify for the defense. Lindsay Clancy's attorneys previously announced their intention to pursue an insanity defense. They plan to argue that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis when the killings occurred.

On January 24, 2023, Lindsay Clancy allegedly requested that her husband pick up dinner. Upon his return 25 minutes later, Patrick Clancy discovered his wife had jumped from their second-story bedroom window. He called emergency services and subsequently discovered that their three children had been strangled with exercise bands. Cora, aged five, and Dawson, aged three, died shortly after arriving at the hospital, while eight-month-old Callan died several days later.

Earlier this year, Patrick Clancy filed a wrongful death lawsuit against several of his wife's healthcare providers. The lawsuit states Lindsay Clancy was prescribed nine medications in the months preceding the incident, with eight prescribed between November 16, 2022, and December 5, 2022. These included Prozac, Ambien, Remeron, Klonopin, Seroquel, Valium, and Lamictal. Patrick Clancy believes his wife killed the children after hearing a male voice telling her it was her last chance and to take them with her.

Patrick Clancy has publicly forgiven his wife and urged the public to do the same. Although the defense requested that women who have suffered from postpartum psychosis testify, the judge rejected the motion. Prosecutors argue Lindsay Clancy planned her actions by sending her husband away before committing the acts. Ahead of the hearing, prosecutors dropped three counts of strangulation, subsuming them into the three murder charges.
