DreamDoll Brii's family breaks silence after influencer's fatal shooting

The family of social media influencer DreamDoll Brii has spoken publicly following her fatal shooting earlier this month, as more than 100 relatives, friends and community members gathered to honour her memory and call for an end to gun violence.

DreamDoll Brii, whose real name was Brianna Johnson, was killed in a shooting on July 5 in Miramar, Florida. 

According to authorities, Johnson and two others were traveling in a green Lamborghini when another vehicle allegedly opened fire on them before the Lamborghini crashed into a nearby house.

Johnson died at the scene, while her cousin, Arthur Lee Johnson III, later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. A third passenger survived and was released the following day.

On July 16, loved ones marched through Pompano Beach to pay tribute to the cousins, with family members describing the devastating loss.

"It's devastating. It's very hard for us," Brianna's great-aunt Monica told the Sun Sentinel. "It's not one, it's two of our family members."

Her grandfather, Ritchie Robinson, reflected on the close bond the pair shared throughout their lives.

"They grew up almost in the same house," he said. "They always stuck together. Two peas in a pod."

Johnson had built a large online following through lifestyle content on Instagram and TikTok. She also briefly pursued music, appearing on several tracks, including the viral song BEND OVA by rapper Sadity Rackz.

Police continue investigating the case and previously said they believe the shooting may have been targeted, though no final determination has been made. 

Investigators are also reviewing social media content, including footage that appears to show an altercation involving the Lamborghini before the shooting.

Witnesses described chaotic scenes in 911 calls obtained by People, with callers pleading for emergency responders as the vehicle crashed into a residence after the gunfire.

The investigation remains ongoing.
