Meghan Markle father devastated by King Charles reunion with grandchildren

Thomas Markle is likely devastated following news that King Charles reunited with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, during a recent private family meeting in the United Kingdom. The California-based royals, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, visited the monarch and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House. The gathering marked the first time King Charles saw seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet since 2022.

Speaking to the Daily Express, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams explained that Thomas Markle remains estranged from his daughter and has never met his two grandchildren. Fitzwilliams noted that Markle participated in staged paparazzi photographs in Mexico ahead of Meghan’s wedding, where he was originally expected to walk her down the aisle, before his health collapsed. Although the former award-winning Hollywood lighting director largely brought up his daughter, Meghan has never forgiven him, and the pair have been estranged since 2018.

The expert highlighted that Markle subsequently became a fierce critic of the Duchess of Sussex, stating that she preaches positivity relentlessly without practising it. Fitzwilliams stated that Markle will likely feel devastated by the recent reunion between King Charles and the children because Meghan reportedly refuses to see or contact her father. He added that the deep rift between father and daughter is highly unlikely ever to be repaired.
