Richard Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva Gere, made a rare public appearance with her 13-year-old son as they cheered Spain to victory at the FIFA World Cup 2026 final on Sunday.

Alejandra documented the family's outing on Instagram, sharing photos and videos from the match at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which was temporarily renamed New York New Jersey Stadium for the tournament. The post featured Gere, 76, Alejandra, 43, and her son Albert Friedland, whose face was blurred to protect his privacy.

Among the photos, Alejandra posed with actor Javier Bardem, while another video captured Spain celebrating with the World Cup trophy after defeating Argentina in the final.

She also shared clips from the star-studded halftime show, which featured performances by Shakira, Madonna, BTS and Justin Bieber.

"There are moments you know you'll remember for a lifetime, and today we were incredibly lucky to experience one of them," Alejandra wrote in Spanish, describing the match as an emotional celebration shared with family, friends and thousands of football fans.

She congratulated Spain's national team on becoming world champions, praising the players' dedication and saying it was a joy to witness the victory together.

Couple moved to Spain in 2024

Gere and Alejandra married in 2018 and relocated from the United States to Spain in 2024.

The couple share two sons, Alexander, 7, and James, 6. Gere is also father to 26-year-old Homer, whom he shares with ex-wife Carey Lowell, while Alejandra shares Albert with former husband Govind Friedland.

Alejandra's latest update comes days after she posted photos from Spain's World Cup semi-final victory over France, where she was joined by two of her children as they celebrated the team's place in the final.
