Officials continue investigating the teenager's death
An Indiana teen died after being found unresponsive in a hot tub at a home in Crown Point early Wednesday morning, prompting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. Authorities have not released the 14-year-old's identity, a cause of death or confirmed whether foul play is suspected.
People reported that the incident happened at a residence on the 1000 block of East Greenwood Avenue in the early hours of 22 July. According to local reports, emergency responders were called after the teenage girl was found unconscious in the hot tub.
Emergency response
The Crown Point Fire Department arrived at the scene and immediately began life-saving measures in an effort to revive the girl. She was then transported to Franciscan Health Crown Point for emergency treatment.
Despite those efforts, the teenager was pronounced dead at the hospital.
