King Charles Coronation: Royal family confirms ‘Coronation Quiche’ as the official dish
The Coronation Lunch also includes Ken Hom's Coronation Roast Rack of Lamb, Nadiya Hussain's Coronation Aubergine and more
The wait is finally over!
King Charles III's Coronation is all set to take place on Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey in London.
The symbolic event will formalize the monarch's role as the head of the Church of England and it will also allow the world to look at a new and modern Great Britain.
This year’s event will rather have a new touch, representing the modern approach of the Britons and the ceremony’s delicious lunch menu is one of them.
The Royal Family has revealed Coronation Quiche as the official party dish. Earlier, the Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation Chicken - created in 1953 - and her Platinum Jubilee Pudding, a lemon and almond trifle made headlines as the popular royal food.
Chief Royal chef Mark Flanagan confirmed the Quiche recipe – including spinach, broad beans and fresh tarragon.
The Coronation Quiche recipe has also been shared on The Royal Family's social media platforms.
“A deep quiche with a crisp, light pastry case and delicate flavors of spinach, broad beans and fresh tarragon,” according to the official royal staff’s description.
The quiche will be served with boiled new potatoes and a green salad as it can be enjoyed hot or cold.
The Coronation Big Lunches also include Ken Hom's Coronation Roast Rack of Lamb with Asian-style Marinade.
Nadiya Hussain's signature Coronation Aubergine will be served to the royal guests. Gregg Wallace's Prawn Tacos with Pineapple Salsa, Adam Handling's Strawberry and Ginger Trifle and Martha Collison's Coronation Crown Scones will also be served as a special nod to Britain’s organic food.
