Late-night veteran Stephen Colbert is preparing for his final bow on CBS's The Late Show after a remarkable 11-season run. Reflecting on his upcoming departure, the 62-year-old comedian shared his candid thoughts on the show's cancellation, which CBS originally announced as a financial decision. Surprisingly, Colbert revealed that the network might have actually saved his life by bringing the grueling daily production to a close, noting the immense energy and toll it takes to host a daily program.

Looking toward the future, Colbert admitted he feels much like a college senior, fully focused on finishing his current responsibilities before figuring out his next career moves. While he remains open to future opportunities, his immediate priority is safely landing the plane on his historic run. The final episode is set to air on May 21, with heavy hitters like Jon Stewart and Steven Spielberg appearing in the finale's lead-up.
