John Travolta opens up about his new director style and daughter Ella's emotional performance
The Hollywood icon shares insights into his personal cinematic project alongside his talented daughter
On the red carpet in New York City, John Travolta discussed his creative journey and striking "director" style. Wearing a beret and goatee, Travolta explained he inspired his look from classic directors of the 1920s through the 1950s after wanting a fresh change from his usual appearance. The premiere at the Museum of Modern Art marked a milestone for Travolta, celebrating a movie he envisioned for 33 years based on a novella he originally wrote.
This highly personal project serves as a family love letter, featuring his daughter Ella. Travolta expressed extreme pride in her performance, comparing her to Audrey Hepburn and acknowledging fan comments regarding her striking resemblance to his late wife, Kelly Preston. Beyond acting as a childhood voyage, Travolta wrote, adapted, narrated, and directed the film, calling the intensive three-month creative process a complete joy.
