Sasha and Malia Obama step out for a rare public appearance in Chicago
See the former first daughters reunite to support their father's new presidential center
Nearly ten years after leaving the White House, Sasha and Malia Obama made a rare and highly anticipated public appearance on the south side of Chicago. The famously private sisters stepped out to support their father, former President Barack Obama, at the star-studded grand opening of his new presidential center. Joining their mother, Michelle Obama, the sisters sat alongside other former first families, including the Clintons, the Bidens, and the Bushes.
The celebratory event featured a lineup of A-list performers like Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, and Christina Aguilera. Today, both sisters reside in Los Angeles; Sasha is a USC graduate, while Malia, a Harvard alumna, is pursuing a career in entertainment after premiering her directorial debut film at the Sundance Film Festival. Their proud father praised them as kind, considerate, and thoughtful young adults.
