Prajakta Koli opens up about audition struggles before securing Netflix show

Prajakta Koli got candid about her journey from being a quirky influencer on social media to a main lead on the hit romantic drama show Mismatched on Netflix.

In conversation with PinkVilla, she reflected on her past auditions, expressing how nerve wracking the process used to be.

She recalled how excited she was when she finally received a call in July 2019 from casting director Panchami Ghavri Malani, who selected her for not only the romance series but a film with Varun Dhawan as well titled,Jugjug Jeeyo.

The 31-year-old influencer turned actress told the outlet that she got a call for an audition for the show, which at that point was named after the book it was based on When Dimple Met Rishi.

Koli further revealed that although she has gotten used to the audition process and what it entails, having a better understanding and a sense of control now, during her early stages of delving into the career she used to get extremely scared and nervous.

She shared that it used to overwhelm her especially because she was a stranger to many and vice versa.

The actress went on to reveal that she had passed the audition and was asked for a chemistry read with her co-star, Rohit Saraf, who played her love interest on the fan favourite series.
