Disney casts its Rapunzel and Flynn Rider for ‘Tangled’ live-action film
The adaptation will likely follow the musical drama format, similarly to its original animated version
Disney has finally found the worthy faces for the famous fictional characters of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.
Teagan Croft, the Australian actress best known for Titans and Netflix’s True Spirit, will be playing the role of Rapunzel, the wide-eyed princess with magical hair and a restless sense of wonder, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
On the other side, Milo Manheim, a familiar face from Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise and Paramount+’s School Spirits, has been cast as Flynn Rider, the charming lad with a cute goatee.
The film is being directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman, Better Man), with Kristin Burr producing and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge, Thor: Love and Thunder) penning the script.
The adaptation will likely follow the musical drama format, similarly to its original animated version; however, the story is still behind the curtains, per THR.
Moreover, the casting follows an extensive international search with finalists screen-tested in London late last year.
Croft and Manheim now inherit roles originally voiced by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi in what is widely regarded as a modern Disney classic.
