Friends Star Lisa Kudrow opens up about stepping away from botox

Lisa Kudrow, best known for her iconic role as Phoebe Buffay on Friends, has revealed that she’s likely finished with Botox after trying it for the first time at age 60.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the 62-year-old actress explained that her latest injection caused some irritation, prompting her decision to step away from the cosmetic treatment.

“I think it contributed to my eye irritation and this weird pattern on my forehead, so I’m probably done with it now anyway,” Kudrow said. She added, “I am scared of having to see myself looking like my grandmother one day, but I’m excited to play older roles.”

Kudrow also discussed the future of her HBO mockumentary series The Comeback, which she created and produced.

She confirmed that the upcoming season will be its last, calling it “third and final.” “I don’t know if I’ll want to do it again in 10 years, so let’s be done, that way no one is asking what’s next or whether we will even want to do more,” she said.

“The most respectful thing we can do for the audience and for the character is make it a three-part story. It’s a trilogy, and this is the end.”

Reflecting on the show’s lasting appeal, Kudrow expressed pride that fans continue to embrace it despite its initially mixed critical reception.

“I’m just thrilled and adore anyone who has the level of appreciation for The Comeback that meets the level of pride I have for doing that show. That is thrilling,” she said.

Kudrow first starred in The Comeback in 2005 and revived it for a later season, citing a desire to explore where her character could go next.

Now, she’s ready to move forward, both personally and professionally, embracing roles that celebrate aging naturally without cosmetic enhancements.
