‘Outlander’ final season premiere achieves 4-year audience peak

The eighth and concluding season of Starz‘s Outlander captivated almost three million viewers across multiple platforms during its premiere week, marking a series high over the past four years, with more platforms yet to provide data.

This time-bending drama, inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s acclaimed novels, will air its third episode on March 20, with new episodes available every Friday.

In Season 8, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitríona Balfe) discover that the war has now reached their home at Fraser’s Ridge, a flourishing settlement that has evolved during their absence.

With new residents and adjustments made over the years, the Frasers must decide what they are prepared to sacrifice for their home and, more crucially, what they would do to remain together.

Despite presenting a united front against external threats, hidden family truths threaten their bond.

Although they have left the battle for America’s independence behind, their struggle for Fraser’s Ridge is just beginning.

Outlander also features Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as Young Ian Murray, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom, and Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Murray.

Matthew B. Roberts, Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Andy Harries, Jim Kohlberg, Balfe, and Heughan are the executive producers for “Outlander,” produced by Sony Pictures Television.
