Jeff Brazier celebrates 'greatest gift' as son Freddy welcomes baby Isla Jade
Jeff Brazier's emotional message to 'special angel' Jade Goody after granddaughter’s birth
TV presenter Jeff Brazier has shared a moving tribute to his first grandchild, Isla Jade Brazier, following her birth this week.
His son, Freddy, 21, and former partner Holly Swinburn, 22, announced the arrival of the baby girl on Friday. The child’s middle name serves as a poignant homage to Freddy’s late mother, the Big Brother star Jade Goody, who passed away in 2009.
Jeff expressed his joy through a series of family photographs, including images of his eldest son, EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier, meeting his new niece.
In an emotional address to the newborn, Jeff noted the significance of her heritage and the family's enduring connection to Jade.
“Dear Isla Jade,” he wrote. “You have no idea how deeply loved you are. There are so many good people standing behind you, and a very special angel watching over you.”
He further expressed his gratitude to the new parents, stating: “I will be forever grateful to Mummy and Daddy for filling my heart and bringing such joy into our lives.”
Freddy Brazier had previously discussed the decision to honour his mother’s memory through his daughter's name.
Freddy explained that incorporating the name Jade felt natural, as he believes part of his mother will live on in Isla.
He opted for Jade as a middle name rather than a first name to ensure his daughter could forge her own identity without excessive public expectation.
He remarked: “Calling the baby Jade as the first name felt like too much expectation on the baby. I don’t want to put any pressure on her.”
