‘The Madison’ marks Taylor Sheridan’s record-breaking series debut
Taylor Sheridan has delivered another success for Paramount
Taylor Sheridan has delivered another success for Paramount. The Madison‘s premiere episode reached 8 million streaming views worldwide in the first 10 days on Paramount+, marking the acclaimed TV creator’s most successful series launch to date.
The show, which debuted with a trio of episodes on March 14, also represents Sheridan’s largest series introduction specifically among women aged 35+, announced Paramount on Thursday.
The Madison featured in Luminate’s Top 5 most-watched streaming series for the week of March 13 to 19.
Luminate ranks TV seasons based on minutes watched, with The Madison landing at No. 5. However, it topped all series concerning streaming views (generally defined as the time spent watching divided by total runtime).
Although The Madison is Sheridan’s finest series introduction, it’s not his top-performing season opener overall.
The Season 2 kickoff of Landman gathered 9.2 million streaming views in just two days. The company recently altered its audience metric to streaming views, so there is no available data to compare with most other season debuts in the Sheridan universe.
The Madison, which has already been confirmed for a second season, is described as Sheridan’s most personal work to date, exploring themes of sorrow and human bonds. It spans Montana and Manhattan as it delves into familial relationships.
The series features Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, Matthew Fox, and Will Arnett.
It is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.
