Victoria Beckham's heartfelt message to Geri Horner after 'Spice Girls' reunion cancellation
'Spice Girls' haven't performed collectively as quintet since London 2012 Olympics closing event
Victoria Beckham has penned a heartfelt tribute for Geri Horner as they reunited, following the cancellation of the "Spice Girls" reunion.
Geri, 53, made an appearance to cheer on Victoria’s son Cruz and his band The Breakers during their final show in London on Friday evening.
Victoria, 51, expressed her gratitude for her friend’s backing by posting a picture of them together on her Instagram stories.
In the shot, both ladies are seen grinning and wearing matching white t-shirts during the concert.
The former Posh Spice captioned it: “Last night! cruzbeckham itsthebreakers. Love you gerihalliwellhorner.”
The lifelong friends were also photographed with Victoria’s spouse David while they enjoyed Cruz’s passionate performance on stage.
Their get-together happened after The Sun reported exclusively that the Spice Girls’ 30th-anniversary reunion has been cancelled due to their inability to finalize their plans on time.
Victoria, Geri, Mel C, Mel B, and Emma Bunton had considered coming back together for a series of shows to commemorate three decades since releasing their debut single, Wannabe.
The Sun indicates they couldn’t come to terms, and the plans for a 2026 tour have now been scrapped.
In a discussion on The Smallzy Show on Australia’s KIIS Radio, Mel C, 52, affirmed: “No, there is no reunion.
“We’re in regular contact and are eager to do something — the question is when.
“However, I remain hopeful, and I’m crossing my fingers that you’ll see the Spice Girls reunite someday.”
The Sun disclosed last April that Geri had reconnected with the group’s former manager Simon Fuller, even flying to Miami in a bid to negotiate a deal.
As recently as January, Mel C maintained they were engaged in ongoing discussions regarding the celebration of this landmark.
Victoria herself had inspired rumors of her return by expressing enthusiasm for the concept of a run at the Las Vegas venue Sphere.
She mentioned in October regarding this: “It’s alluring. But could I manage an international tour? No, I can’t. I have responsibilities…”
The Spice Girls haven't performed collectively as a quintet since the London 2012 Olympics closing event.
Their last reunion, excluding Posh, occurred in 2019 with a sold-out 13-date stadium tour across the UK and Ireland, selling 700,000 tickets and earning £4.4m per member.
