Euphoria season 3 trailer reveals Eric Dane’s farewell scenes before ALS battle claim
The new trailer teases a reunion between Cal Jacobs and Hunter Schafer’s Jules
Eric Dane is making his final onscreen appearance in the highly anticipated third season of Euphoria, a role that fans will see for the last time following his death on February 19 at age 53.
Dane had filmed his scenes for the HBO hit series prior to his passing, nearly a year after announcing his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
The new trailer, released Monday, March 30, offers a first glimpse of Dane reprising his role as Cal Jacobs, father to Jacob Elordi’s Nate Jacobs.
In one emotional moment, Cal reunites with Hunter Schafer’s Jules, with the brief exchange capturing the intensity fans remember from season 1.
“Remember me?” Jules asks. “How could I forget?” he replies.
Dane first revealed his ALS diagnosis to People in April 2025, expressing gratitude that he could continue working and excitement about returning to the set.
Just four days after making the announcement, he began filming season 3.
Following his passing, Dane’s family shared a heartfelt statement with People,“With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS.
He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world.
Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received.
The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.”
Season 3 of Euphoria will see the return of Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, and Chloe Cherry as series regulars, alongside guest stars Colman Domingo and Nika King.
Sharon Stone, who previously described Dane’s role as “a big deal” to him, shared how meaningful it was that he got the opportunity to join the cast before his passing, recalling their friendship and her support during his audition process.
The upcoming season, which premieres Sunday, April 12, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max.
