Kylie Kelce explains choice to avoid alcohol during Not Gonna Lie podcast
Kylie Kelce tells comedian Caleb Hearon she prefers to remain in command of her actions
Kylie Kelce has opened up about her decision to abstain from alcohol and other substances, citing a deep-seated need for personal autonomy.
During the 2 April 2026 episode of her weekly podcast, Not Gonna Lie, the 34-year-old mother of four engaged in a candid conversation with guest Caleb Hearon.
Kelce admitted that she rarely drinks alcohol because she is uncomfortable with the idea of losing herself to an external influence.
"I have control issues," she jokingly explained to the comedian, before clarifying more seriously: "I don't ever want to be out of control... I can control not having to feel that way."
She further revealed that she has never smoked anything in her life, a boundary she has maintained throughout her adulthood.
The discussion turned toward the importance of neurological maturity, with Kelce agreeing with Hearon’s "gratitude" for waiting until his mid-twenties to experiment with lifestyle changes.
Kelce noted that she often advises others to wait until they have a "fully-formed frontal lobe" before making such decisions.
This disciplined approach stands in contrast to the well-known story of her first date with husband Jason Kelce. The couple has frequently recounted how the former Philadelphia Eagles centre fell asleep at a bar after several drinks, requiring a teammate to help carry him home.
Today, the Kelces manage a busy household with their four daughters: Wyatt, 6; Elliotte, 5; Bennett, 3; and Finnley, who celebrated her first birthday on 30 March 2026
Since its debut in late 2024, Not Gonna Lie has consistently topped podcast charts, with Kelce using the platform to discuss parenting, sports, and family life.
Having recently returned from maternity leave, she continues to balance her media career with her role as a prominent figure in the Philadelphia community.
