Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is preparing to enchant viewers for one last time.

On Thursday (April 2), the revival series of Wizards of Wavery Place shared on Instagram that its third and final season will premiere this summer on Disney+ and Disney Channel.

The concluding part of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will unfold over four episodes, with Selena Gomez — portraying Alex Russo in the original and reboot series — making her directorial debut in the premiere episode.

“Prepare for one last magical adventure,” the Disney wizard series captioned its video, which captures the scene from the season 2 finale where Alex leaps into the dark magic portal as a sacrifice to overcome the wicked Lord Morsus.

Although the season 2 finale left fans speculating that Alex might have perished, David Henrie, who leads the spinoff as Justin Russo and also serves as an executive producer with Gomez, 33, quickly assured fans that her journey is far from over.

"Just so it's clear, Alex Russo is more resilient than you believe - and there’s much more ahead," he posted in a X message on October 8.

"You’re asking all the right questions. Stay tuned, #WizardsBeyond promises more magical moments.”

Season 3 features Billie, portrayed by Janice LeAnn Brown, as she “continues to grapple with losing Alex at the end of season 2” and “finds that rescuing her mother requires reuniting with her estranged father,” according to the show’s official summary.

“As her family unites to find Alex, Billie realises their collective strength is the only way the Russos can overcome the evil afflicting them.”

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place also includes Alkai Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo.

Prior to the season 2 conclusion, Henrie, 36, shared with PEOPLE his vision for the series finale.

“I wish to reintroduce a beautiful sibling relationship, considering their present life situations,” he mentioned.

“As we age, families often drift apart with everyone pursuing their own paths, but that bond remains constant and should always endure.”

The actor discussed the experience of co-producing the show with his longtime co-star and friend and mentioned seeing a "new side" of Gomez.

“Co-producing a project has slightly altered our friendship as we've never really engaged in business or professional discussions. It’s mostly been friendly,” Henrie remarked. “It’s been enjoyable discussing something we both hold dear and working to make it the best it can be.”
