'The Copenhagen Test' cancelled after one season on Peacock
Peacock has decided against renewing 'The Copenhagen Test' for a second season
Peacock will not be proceeding with another season of The Copenhagen Test. The streaming service has decided to cancel the spy thriller featuring Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera after one season, as confirmed by a source familiar with the matter to Deadline.
Created by Thomas Brandon and with executive producer James Wan, The Copenhagen Test followed Chinese-American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale (Liu), who discovers his mind has been compromised, giving the intruders access to his every perception.
Caught between his dubious agency and unknown infiltrators, he must keep up appearances around the clock to find out who's responsible and determine his loyalties.
Barrera portrayed Michelle, a character shrouded in mystery who keeps everyone on edge.
The cast also featured Sinclair Daniel as Parker, an intelligence officer thrust into a new realm she must quickly navigate; Brian D’Arcy James as John Moira, a mentor and superior unafraid of making hard choices; Mark O’Brien as Cobb, a driven agent eager to prove himself; and Kathleen Chalfant as St. George, a quiet leader with an eye on the big picture.
Brandon both created and wrote The Copenhagen Test, serving as executive producer alongside co-showrunner and EP Jennifer Yale.
James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett also served as executive producers for Atomic Monster, with Liu contributing as an EP.
Mark Winemaker and Jet Wilkinson were also executive producers, with Wilkinson directing the initial two episodes. UCP, part of Universal Studio Group, produced the series.
