Global pop sensation Meghan Trainor has candidly revealed that she engaged in "heavy therapy" to protect her marriage to husband Daryl Sabara.
Speaking to US Weekly, the thirty-three-year-old star explained that the transition into parenthood caused their relationship to be "pushed to the side" as they focused on their three young children.
Trainor admitted that the couple faced significant communication hurdles, leading them to seek professional guidance.
"I was in marriage counselling while doing this album," she shared, referring to her upcoming seventh studio record, Toy With Me.
The singer noted that the pressures of raising Riley, five, Barry, two, and infant Mikey led to frequent misunderstandings.
She observed that "we realised when we were even having little, tiny arguments, we were living in full different realities."
Through these sessions, the pair discovered that they were often not even "fighting about the same thing."
Now, the performer advocates for total transparency to prevent emotional distance. She cautioned that "you just can't hold anything in because it builds resentment, and resentment is a relationship killer."
Following their intensive work together, Trainor described their bond as stronger than ever, stating they are "so good now that I recommend it to everyone."
Trainor and Sabara, who wed in 2018, recently welcomed their third child via surrogate in January. As she prepares for her latest album launch, she remains committed to prioritising her family’s emotional health.
The artist previously found international fame with her debut hit in 2014 and continues to evolve her sound with her newest musical projects.
