Grammy-nominated rapper Ice Spice was reportedly the victim of an "unprovoked attack" at a California McDonald’s during the early hours of Wednesday.
Surveillance footage obtained by TMZ shows the performer, whose real name is Isis Gaston, sitting with a friend when a woman approached their booth.
After a brief interaction, the woman allegedly slapped the musician, leading to a physical scuffle that spilled across the restaurant furniture.
The attacker was eventually escorted outside by a male companion, though a second confrontation reportedly occurred shortly thereafter when the groups crossed paths again outside the establishment.
In a formal statement, Ice Spice’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, confirmed that the incident has been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department.
"The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD and we will be pursuing all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible," Cohen asserted, adding that they are also investigating the restaurant's security measures.
Conversely, the woman involved, identified as Vayah, claimed she initially approached the "Deli" hitmaker to offer a compliment but alleged that the rapper responded rudely.
Vayah admitted to the physical confrontation but claimed she only struck the artist after being insulted during the exchange.
Ice Spice has recently been a dominant figure in the music industry, known for her viral hits and high-profile collaborations with artists like Latto and Nicki Minaj.
While the rapper appeared shaken in the footage, she did not report any serious injuries. Her legal team remains steadfast in their pursuit of criminal and civil justice regarding the altercation.
