Mindy Cohn opens up about cancer return and ongoing recovery
Fellow celebrities have shared messages of support following her announcement
Mindy Cohn has revealed that she is once again undergoing cancer treatment, sharing the news in a candid social media post on Sunday.
The 58-year-old actress, best known for her role as Natalie Green on the classic NBC sitcom The Facts of Life, posted an emotional message on Instagram confirming she is “kicking cancer’s ass” with the help of her medical team and family support.
“Have been off social media for a while ‘cuz I had to go kick cancer’s ass,” Cohn wrote, thanking staff at Providence Saint John’s Hospital, including her surgeons and nurses, as well as her family for their ongoing support.
She added that she is currently in recovery and plans to take a few weeks to rest before moving forward with what she described as her “next adventure.”
Cohn has faced cancer before. In a 2017 interview with People, she revealed she had been privately battling breast cancer for several years, describing the illness as recurring and emotionally exhausting.
“I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, and then it would,” she said at the time, reflecting on the unpredictability of her diagnosis.
Despite the challenges, Cohn has continued working in recent years, including roles in Palm Royale and the comedy film Influenced, alongside actors such as Drew Barrymore and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Following her latest announcement, Cohn received an outpouring of support from colleagues and fans, with messages of encouragement shared by Octavia Spencer, Rhea Seehorn, Chelsea Handler, and Sarah Paulson.
Cohn, who rose to fame as a beloved teen sitcom star before transitioning into film and television roles, has remained active in the industry while privately managing ongoing health challenges.
