Marie Osmond shares emotional last message from brother Alan Osmond before passing
Donny Osmond also paid tribute to his late brother
Marie Osmond has shared the final words spoken to her by her brother Alan Osmond before his death at the age of 76, revealing he found comfort in the idea of being reunited with their late brother Wayne Osmond.
Alan, a member of the legendary Osmond family group The Osmonds, died on Monday, April 20, 2026.
In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, Marie reflected on his final moments and the faith that guided him throughout his life.
She revealed that Alan spoke peacefully about what he believed awaited him after death, including a reunion with their brother Wayne, who passed away last year.
“The last thing he said to me was: ‘I can’t wait to see brother Wayne, so we can be missionary companions together and start preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ,’” Marie wrote. “That’s my brother Alan!! I love you so very much and will miss you dearly.”
Marie also shared a deeply personal reflection on feeling spiritually connected to her late family members, including her mother Olive, saying she felt a sense of reassurance about Alan’s passing and what she described as a “joyous reunion” beyond life.
In her tribute, she praised Alan for the role he played in guiding the family through early fame, saying he took on leadership responsibilities at just 12 years old.
“Alan became our leader at age 12. How daunting that must have felt,” she wrote.
“But he never complained. He told me many times: ‘It felt like a mission … a long one, but I loved doing it.’”
Marie said her brother carried that sense of responsibility with devotion, crediting him for helping shape the family’s success while remaining grounded in faith and family values.
Following Alan’s passing, another brother, Donny Osmond, also paid tribute on social media, describing Alan as a lifelong protector and guiding figure within the family.
Sharing a childhood photo of the two, Donny wrote that Alan was “the one who quietly carried so much responsibility so the rest of us could shine,” adding that his support helped build the foundation of their careers.
“He was our leader in every sense of the word,” Donny wrote. “I owe him more than I can ever fully express. I love you, Alan. Till we meet again.”
