Machine Gun Kelly reveals he still can’t access airport fast-track services
The rapper claims he is ineligible for TSA PreCheck and Global Entry
Machine Gun Kelly has revealed that his past legal issues continue to affect his travel experience, saying he is still unable to access expedited airport security despite his celebrity status.
Speaking on the April 22 episode of Take Flight, the “I Think I’m OKAY” artist—whose real name is Colson Baker said his previous drug-related offense has resulted in ongoing travel restrictions.
“Traveling was difficult because I have a level one narcotics possession or whatever,” MGK said, referencing an incident in which he was caught with cocaine while returning from New Zealand.
“I still don’t get TSA PreCheck or Global Entry or any of that fast stuff in the airport. I’m still stuck in lines like normal.”
The rapper explained that the situation has also impacted his international mobility in the past, including delays in obtaining an Australian visa, which he said took around eight years to resolve.
Despite these challenges, MGK noted that he now navigates airports like any other traveler, without priority screening privileges.
The artist has also been open about his sobriety journey in recent years. In a 2024 appearance on the Dumb Blonde podcast, he confirmed that he has stopped drinking and has been sober from all substances since the previous year.
“I’m completely sober from everything. I don’t drink anymore,” he said at the time, adding that he sought treatment following a European tour.
He described his rehab experience as a turning point, saying it helped him better understand his mental health and develop coping strategies for anger and emotional regulation.
“I ended up falling into an awareness of what my condition is, and have made peace with it,” he said, calling sobriety an ongoing “tightrope walk.”
