Queen Camilla to reunite 'Winnie-the-Pooh' characters in NYC after 90 years

Queen Camilla is set to give a uniquely made Roo toy to the New York Public Library as part of the royal duo's official tour of the United States.

This gesture will bring the adored Winnie-the-Pooh characters back together after nearly a hundred years apart.

The Roo toy was created by the classic British toy manufacturer Merrythought, intending to complete the library's renowned collection of the original teddy bears once owned by Christopher Robin Milne.

Merrythought is also the company that originally made the toys in the early 20th century.

This new kangaroo joey was crafted using the beloved original illustrations from A. A. Milne's famous children's stories.

The library's permanent Treasures collection includes the actual toys that belonged to A. A. Milne's son.

These stuffed animals sparked the imagination for stories first released exactly a century ago in 1926.

Today, visitors can see five of the original toys, including Winnie, Tigger, Piglet, Kanga, and Eeyore, all displayed together at the New York library.

A baby kangaroo toy, designed based on the original drawings from the Winnie the Pooh stories, will be given to the New York Public Library by Queen Camilla during her official US visit.

Yet, the baby kangaroo Roo has missed being part of the collection for years, having been lost in an apple orchard during the 1930s.

Through this generous gift, the Queen will complete the lineup of these characters that have enchanted people around the globe.

The King and Queen plan to arrive in the United States on Monday for a scheduled four-day visit, where they will meet with Donald Trump and attend a state dinner at the White House.

President Trump suggests this visit might mend diplomatic relations between the two countries following the Iran conflict tensions.

The Roo toy is currently being kept at Buckingham Palace in anticipation of its journey across the ocean. It will travel with the Queen on the royal plane.

While in New York, Camilla plans to explore the library's Treasures collection before presenting this specially commissioned present.
