Billie Eilish has offered fans a fresh update on her highly anticipated fourth studio album, confirming that the project is now more than halfway complete.

In a recent interview with Billie Eilish for Elle Magazine, the Grammy-winning artist revealed that work on her next album is progressing steadily following the success of her 2024 record Hit Me Hard and Soft.

“Oh yeah! We’re more than halfway [done],” Eilish said casually when asked about the status of the project, giving fans one of the clearest timelines yet for her next era of music.

The singer first confirmed last year that she had begun working on her fourth album, though she has remained largely tight-lipped about details such as its title, tracklist, or release date.

Beyond music, Eilish also reflected on her ongoing activism and willingness to speak out on political and social issues despite potential backlash.

“I was raised like this,” she said, explaining her approach to public advocacy.

“When you have this insane platform that you can use to advocate for people, but you’re not advocating for people because you don’t want to be controversial?”

She added, “Why is it controversial to step in when someone’s getting bullied and try to stop it? Yeah, you’re probably going to have to deal with some problems, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it.”

Eilish has previously used major public appearances to voice her views, including criticism of ICE during this year’s Grammy Awards and remarks about wealth inequality at the Wall Street Journal Innovator Awards, where Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was in attendance.
