Kim Kardashian’s Broadway project shut out of Tony nominations in star-heavy season
Several celebrity-led Broadway projects also failed to secure nominations this season
Kim Kardashian’s Broadway producing debut was notably left out of the 2026 Tony Award nominations, as this year’s list spotlighted a strong field of new musicals and major revivals.
The nominations were announced on Tuesday by actors Uzo Aduba and Darren Criss ahead of the June 7 ceremony, highlighting a Broadway season shaped by ambitious productions and high-profile revivals.
Leading the pack were new musicals The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon!, which each earned 12 nominations, including recognition in major categories such as Best Musical, performance, and design.
Close behind was a new staging of Ragtime, which received 11 nominations and was praised for its score and ensemble performances, reinforcing its continued relevance on Broadway.
This year’s nominations reflect a theatrical season defined by a mix of original works, reinventions of classics, and strong audience turnout as Broadway continues its post-pandemic momentum.
The season also saw a noticeable wave of celebrity involvement on stage and behind the scenes, with actors such as Adrien Brody, Tessa Thompson, and Patrick Ball making Broadway debuts, while figures like Kim Kardashian and Barack Obama stepped into producing roles.
However, none of the celebrity-linked productions, including Kardashian’s Broadway project, received nominations in any category this year.
