Jaafar Jackson paid a quiet but meaningful tribute to his late uncle Michael Jackson as he made his debut at the 2026 Met Gala, reflecting on both family legacy and his upcoming portrayal of the King of Pop.

Speaking on the red carpet at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Jaafar said stepping into Michael Jackson’s world through an upcoming biopic had been a deeply personal experience that changed his perspective.

“It was the most incredible, life-changing experience I could ask for, to go through it all from day one,” he said. “And now to be here at the Met, it’s quite trippy.”

For the event, Jaafar opted for a classic ensemble by Ralph Lauren, choosing a look he said felt connected to Michael Jackson’s enduring influence on style.

“This is Polo Ralph Lauren,” he explained. “I wanted to go with something that’s still in the world of Michael, since the film is out.”

He added that the outfit’s simplicity and elegance made it feel fitting for the occasion, describing it as having a “timeless feel” that aligned with the tribute he wanted to convey.
