Christina Ricci targets Katy Perry polarising Stella McCartney look in social media post
Katy Perry wore a mirrored mask and Stella McCartney dress for the annual event
- Christina Ricci commented "Yikes" on Katy Perry’s mirrored Met Gala mask look.
- The social media shade follows historical sexual assault allegations made by Ruby Rose.
- Melbourne detectives are currently investigating the claims against the American pop star.
Christina Ricci has left a savage, albeit succinct, comment on an Instagram carousel featuring Katy Perry and Connor Storrie at the 2026 Met Gala.
Under a series of photographs shared by Variety on Monday, the Addams Family actress simply wrote "Yikes."
The images captured the "Roar" singer in a polarising Stella McCartney dress and a futuristic face mask, accompanied by Storrie, who wore a black polka dot Saint Laurent ensemble.
In one snap, the Heated Rivalry star playfully imitated Perry’s mirrored headwear by covering his own face.
While some fans praised Perry’s eccentric fencing-mask aesthetic, others quickly rallied behind Ricci’s blunt reaction.
The pointed remark surfaced amidst a tumultuous period for Perry, following recent allegations by Ruby Rose regarding an incident in Melbourne in 2010.
Rose, who co-starred with Ricci in the 2013 film Around the Block, recently shared that she has finalised police reports concerning the matter.
A representative for the pop star has categorically denied the claims, describing them as "dangerous and reckless lies," though Victoria Police have confirmed that an investigation into the historical report is underway.
It remains unclear if Ricci’s comment was a critique of the fashion choices or a subtle nod to the ongoing legal controversy surrounding Perry.
The singer, who is currently dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has continued her public appearances despite the investigation.
Ricci’s social media activity added to a night of high tension at the Met Gala, which also saw protestors demonstrating outside the venue.
Representatives for both Ricci and Perry have not yet returned requests for comment regarding the viral interaction.
