Ted Danson recently spoke candidly about how a sudden health scare humbled him and altered his perspective on life.

During the Wednesday episode of his podcast, Where Everybody Knows Your Name, the 78-year-old actor hosted Valerie Bertinelli and reflected on the moment he began to question his own mortality.

Although he assured listeners that he is currently "totally fine," the experience served as a stark reminder that even a celebrated career does not offer a "free pass" when it comes to health.

The Good Place star admitted to being shocked by the news, noting that he felt he hadn't done anything to "--- up" his health before the incident.

However, he now views the scare as a positive turning point, describing it as "the best thing that could have happened" to him.

"It was very humbling and calming," Danson quipped, explaining that the event has prompted him to approach his daily routine and long-term outlook with a renewed sense of intentionality and gratitude.

One significant change in his life involves a commitment to mental well-being alongside his wife, Mary Steenburgen. The couple has begun practising meditation twice a day, a habit Danson describes as the "biggest gift" he has received.

He shared that this practice has allowed him to become more present, supportive, and genuinely curious about the lives of others.

For Danson, the second act of his life is now focused on the power of listening and witnessing the experiences of those around him, rather than just his own journey.
