Cardi B shares heartfelt update after falling sick following Met Gala
The singer thanked her mother for caring for her after she fell ill this week
Cardi B has given fans a glimpse into her recovery after revealing she fell ill around the time of the 2026 Met Gala.
Despite not feeling well, the rapper still made a striking appearance at fashion’s biggest night on May 4, turning heads in a dramatic custom-designed look by Marc Jacobs that was described as a “dismembered doll” ensemble.
Now, the Grammy-winning artist has shared a personal health update with followers on Instagram, revealing that her mother has been taking care of her while she recovers.
In a video posted to her Instagram Stories, Cardi showed off a bowl of homemade soup prepared by her mother as she opened up about feeling unwell after returning home.
“Yup so I finally got home but I am down bad y’all,” the rapper said in the clip before praising the meal prepared for her.
“Look at this soup my mamma made me,” she added.
The mother-of-four also encouraged fans to appreciate their parents, especially mothers, for the comfort and care they provide during difficult moments.
“Y’all need to appreciate your mommas yo, ain’t nobody gonna make me a soup made with love like this,” Cardi shared.
The update came shortly after the rapper gave followers another look into her personal life by sharing moments from a Mother’s Day celebration at her son Wave’s school following the Met Gala festivities.
While Cardi did not disclose details about her illness, the rapper appeared in good spirits as she thanked her mother for helping her recover after a hectic week of appearances and events.
