Pete Davidson gushes over baby Scottie, says she’s already 'very communicative'
The comedian shared a sweet update on fatherhood during a live podcast taping in Los Angeles
Pete Davidson is embracing fatherhood and says his five-month-old daughter is already keeping him entertained with her nonstop “conversations.”
The comedian recently opened up about life with baby Scottie during a live taping of The Pete Davidson Show at Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theater, where he shared sweet details about parenting alongside fellow comedian John Mulaney.
Davidson and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt welcomed their first child together in December 2025, and the actor admitted he is already excited to watch his daughter grow up.
“She’s five months old now,” Davidson said during the conversation, adding that Scottie is already “really communicative” and attempts to speak throughout the day.
The actor joked that while the baby mostly says “la,” the pair still spend hours “talking all day,” describing his daughter as “cute and chunky.”
Davidson went on to call fatherhood “awesome” and admitted the experience has completely shifted his priorities and outlook on life.
The Saturday Night Live alum recently revealed that becoming a father has made him less focused on people-pleasing and career pressure.
“If I could do that, that’d be cool. But if not, I get to hang out with Scottie,” he previously said while discussing how parenting changed his perspective.
During the podcast event, Mulaney also shared stories about his own children with wife Olivia Munn, describing their daughter Mei as energetic and expressive.
Davidson and Hewitt have also previously explained the emotional meaning behind their daughter’s name, revealing Scottie was partly chosen to honour Davidson’s late father, Scott Davidson, the firefighter who died during the September 11 attacks in 2001.
The couple added that the name also carried sentimental ties to Scotland, where they said their daughter was conceived, as well as a family middle-name tradition on Hewitt’s side.
