Anne Hathaway celebrates family bond with sons while enjoying career highs

Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway is embracing what she calls a “really fun zone” in family life as she enjoys spending time with her two young sons while balancing a thriving Hollywood career.

In a new interview with Elle for its Summer 2026 “The Women of The Odyssey” issue, the 43-year-old actress shared rare insight into life with sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6, whom she shares with husband Adam Shulman.

Hathaway, who stars as Penelope in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey, said she and her family are currently enjoying a close-knit chapter together.

“My sons are in this really fun zone where we all love hanging out together,” Hathaway explained, while joking that their feelings about their parents “might change” as they grow older.

The actress added that she and Shulman are trying to fully embrace the present moment.

“We’re all just in it,” Hathaway said. “Adam and I are soaking it up. I’m having the most wonderful time with my family, living in the city of my dreams, and work seems to be going really, really well.”

The The Devil Wears Prada star also reflected on motherhood’s influence on her lifestyle and fashion choices. Speaking previously about raising two boys, Hathaway described herself as a “tomboy,” admitting she now dresses with practicality in mind.

“You have to always be able to go from a serious business meeting to, like, a basketball court,” she said, adding that mornings often involve dodging flying objects before breakfast.

Hathaway has largely kept her family life private over the years, rarely speaking publicly about her children. However, the actress appeared relaxed and reflective in the latest interview, describing this phase of motherhood as one she deeply appreciates.

Professionally, Hathaway continues to enjoy a strong run in Hollywood, with anticipation building around both The Odyssey and the upcoming sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.

The Odyssey is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17.
