Pete Davidson ‘confused’ over Elsie Hewitt’s claim she is raising daughter alone

Pete Davidson is reportedly “utterly confused” after claims from his former partner that she is raising their daughter alone.

The Saturday Night Live alum, 32, is said by close friends to be struggling to understand remarks made by model Elsie Hewitt, 30, who recently suggested she is raising their baby daughter, Scottie, “on my own.”

Davidson and Hewitt went public with their relationship last year and revealed they were expecting a child just months into their romance.

Reports later suggested the pair split roughly five months after the birth of their daughter.

Hewitt has since spoken on social media about parenting independently, prompting conflicting reactions from sources close to Davidson.

One insider told Page Six that Davidson’s focus has been on supporting both Hewitt and their daughter.

“Pete’s main priority right now is making sure that Elsie and Scottie are looked after, so it’s utterly confusing to everyone who knows them why she would possibly post anything about him not supporting her,” the source said.

Another source added that while the couple initially appeared strong, tensions likely developed after the birth of their child.

“Having a baby is difficult — no one can prepare you for what happens after you have a baby,” the insider noted, suggesting incompatibility issues may have surfaced over time.

A separate source close to the situation said the pair’s relationship struggles were not directly caused by the baby, but signs of a mismatch existed before Scottie’s birth.

Despite the split, those close to Davidson say fatherhood remains deeply important to him.

The comedian has previously spoken about his desire to become a parent, shaped in part by the loss of his father, Scott Davidson, who died in the September 11 attacks.

“He’s always wanted it and really looked forward to it,” a source said, describing the situation as “sad for everyone involved.”

Davidson has previously been open about his mental health struggles, including PTSD and depression, and has spoken publicly about how personal relationships have affected him in the past.
