Kim Kardashian opens up about parenting challenges as North West’s public profile grows

Kim Kardashian has opened up about the challenges of parenting her eldest daughter, North West, admitting she feels “conflicted” as the 12-year-old’s public profile continues to grow.

The American Horror Story star and SKIMS founder said her daughter’s expanding presence in fashion, music, and social media has created a unique parenting situation, especially as North approaches her teenage years.

North, who will turn 13 next month, has already built a significant online following and is frequently seen engaging in creative projects across entertainment and fashion spaces.

Kim revealed that North is currently being homeschooled, allowing her more flexibility to explore her interests in music and fashion while continuing her education.

However, the reality star admitted the arrangement has placed her in an unusual role as both mother and manager.

“Me having to be her momager right now is crazy,” Kardashian said, adding that she ensures North is always supervised while working on any public-facing projects.

She explained that the responsibility was unexpected, noting it was “not on my list” and something she is still adjusting to.

A source close to the family said Kardashian would prefer her children to have more privacy but recognizes that their public lives are difficult to avoid given their fame.

The insider added that she is focused on preparing her children to be financially independent and aware of their public influence as so-called “nepo babies.”

Despite criticism online about North’s early exposure to the entertainment industry, Kardashian emphasized that she is trying to maintain balance in her daughter’s routine.

She said she aims to ensure North’s work experiences are matched with a healthy amount of normal childhood activities and personal time.

“I just want balance,” she said, highlighting her effort to manage both opportunity and stability as her daughter grows up in the spotlight.
