Anna Kepner reportedly told ex she was ‘afraid’ of stepbrother Timothy Hudson
An FBI agent said Anna’s ex-boyfriend witnessed a disturbing incident during a FaceTime call
New court testimony has revealed that Anna Kepner reportedly expressed fear of her stepbrother months before her death, after an alleged incident in which he was said to have entered her bedroom while she was asleep.
The disclosure came during a February court hearing in Florida, where FBI Agent Andrew del Valle testified about statements made by individuals interviewed during the investigation into Anna’s death.
The case involves her stepbrother, Timothy Hudson, who has been indicted on charges of murder and aggravated sexual abuse.
According to testimony referenced in court records, Anna’s ex-boyfriend told investigators that he witnessed a disturbing moment involving Hudson while he was speaking to Anna over FaceTime as she slept.
Del Valle stated that during one of their regular late-night calls, Anna had fallen asleep while still connected on video when her ex-boyfriend reportedly noticed Hudson enter her room.
“During one of those FaceTime conversations, he recalls that she had fallen asleep… but he noticed or he heard a noise coming from her phone,” the agent testified. “He looked and he states that he had seen [Timothy] trying to get into bed with [Anna].”
The ex-boyfriend allegedly shouted at Hudson through the phone, after which Hudson left the room, according to the testimony.
Anna reportedly remained asleep during the incident and was informed about it the following day.
Court documents further state that after being told what had happened, Anna allegedly said she was reluctant to report the incident to her father and expressed fear of her stepbrother.
According to the testimony, she reportedly told her ex-boyfriend that she believed Hudson was “a little weird” and referenced concerns about him having access to knives, adding that she was afraid of him.
The revelations add new context to the ongoing case surrounding Anna’s death, which occurred during a family cruise in November 2025.
She was found dead in the stateroom she shared with Hudson and her younger half-brother, and medical examiners later ruled her death a homicide caused by mechanical asphyxiation.
Hudson was later indicted on charges including murder and sexual abuse and has since been placed in pretrial custody under conditions set by a federal judge.
He has been transferred to the care of a maternal relative while proceedings continue, as he is being tried as an adult.
Family members have previously presented conflicting accounts of the relationship between Anna and Hudson.
During earlier custody proceedings, Hudson’s mother and Anna’s stepmother, Shauntel Kepner, described the pair as close and said they shared a sibling-like bond.
However, following the investigation into Anna’s death, court filings indicate that Shauntel Kepner has since cut ties with her son.
Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the case remains under active investigation.
