Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein shut down dating rumors on live TV
The co-stars were questioned about their off-screen chemistry while promoting 'Office Romance'
Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein addressed speculation about their relationship status during a lively appearance on the Today show on Tuesday, June 2, firmly denying that their off-screen connection extends beyond their new film Office Romance.
The 56-year-old singer and actress appeared alongside her 45-year-old co-star as co-host Savannah Guthrie pressed them on whether their chemistry in the romantic comedy had spilled into real life.
Lopez responded with laughter, noting that public speculation often follows her whenever she works closely with a male co-star.
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” she said.
Goldstein echoed the sentiment in a joking tone, adding, “I think if you stand near her, that’s what happens. That’s why I’ve been standing so close this whole time.”
Guthrie pushed further, telling Lopez that her response wasn’t a clear answer. Lopez disagreed, reiterating that rumors are a recurring pattern in her career.
“It was an answer! Because all these people that they put me [with]… I think I was with Kevin Costner this year. It happens all the time. Doesn’t make it true,” she said.
When asked directly if they were dating, both stars clarified the situation.
“Not dating,” Lopez said, with Goldstein adding, “Correct.”
The exchange continued in a lighthearted tone as Guthrie admitted she had become flustered during the interview. Lopez laughed off the moment, joking, “You tried to fluster us, and we flustered you!”
The pair’s appearance comes after weeks of speculation fueled by their promotional tour for Office Romance, during which they have repeatedly been asked about their off-screen dynamic.
A source previously told People that Lopez is currently focused on her work and family life following her divorce from Ben Affleck, finalized in 2025, and is “in a great place on her own right now.”
Despite the rumors, both Lopez and Goldstein have continued to promote their film while maintaining that their relationship remains strictly professional.
